Teams Turtle and Sheltowee

Forty-eight hikers left the intersection of Todd’s Road and Cressmont Road on the morning of April 15. Team Turtle Heron hiked about 14 miles to Lago Linda Hideaway on Saturday and more than 18 miles into Natural Bridge State Park on Sunday. Saturday night was highlighted by a good supper at the Lago Linda cafe, which included lasagna, salad, and peach cobbler. The hike was very nice, with clear skies and very warm weather. The threat of rain on Sunday helped move hikers along quicker than usual. Most hikers missed the heavy rain, but a few had the chance to cool off a little before getting to their cars.

Farewell, five-pound drop. Heavier packs, elevation change, and long miles lie ahead as we skip the Red River Gorge section and continue North to Morehead in May. Clean up that equipment, walk or hike a little over the next few weeks, and prepare for the May hike.
