Keenis Farrow Crawford
Keenis Farrow Crawford was born March 30, 1845, in Breathitt County, Kentucky. He died at his home at Oakdale, Kentucky July 31, 1929. He was 84 years, four months, and one day old when he died. His wife having died on February 7, 1917.
He was married to Mary Marcum on November 20, 1889. They joined the Presbyterian church many years ago and lived consistent Christians by feeding the hungry and clothing the poor. No one who ever stood in need went empty-handed from his door.
His funeral was preached by Rev. Patterson of Beattyville. His text was John 11:25-26. He was a noble character, and his influence will live on. “Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev. 14:13.
Those who attended the funeral of the immediate family were: Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Beech, Mrs. A. B. Hoskins and son, Mrs. Kate Wilson, Mrs. Mollie Lyons and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. William Firestein, Mrs. Calla Howell, Cleveland and Sam Crawford, Mrs. Morg E. Treadway. Mrs. Mollie Black and daughter, Ruth, and Mr. and Mrs. Dewitt Maloney, Mrs. Nancy Cole.
